Coast Guard Cutter Acushnet on Flickr.By now you may have noticed that I have the blessing of living right on the water. Specifically the waters of the Gastineau Channel in Alaska’s Inside Passage. Any ship or boat that wants to dock in downtown Juneau must pass by my back door.
While I’d never dream of attempt to collect customs duties, I’m very happy take pictures of the various ships and other watercraft that pass by my window.
This is a 2010 picture of a Coast Guard cutter. We love the Coast Guard in Alaska. They do a LOT of search and rescue and they protect our fisheries.
